Havana, Mar 4 (Prensa Latina) The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People''s Army (FARC-EP) expressed its willingness today to engage in an exchange with Colombian lawmakers about a political solution to the armed conflict.

Through a release to which Prensa Latina had access, the insurgency said that although "there is no agenda established for the development of the exchange," they will receive a delegation composed of Colombian legislators belonging both to the Senate and the House of Representatives.

The parliamentary group has expressed its intention to dialogue with the insurgency on war and peace.

The FARC-EP is "fully willing" to analyze any issue whose discussion can help to strengthen the peace talks, taking place in Havana, Cuba, since November 19.

The text expressed their satisfaction with the interest expressed by other public representatives than the government, such as the Congress' President Roy Barreras, of being linked to the peace process "and thus opening the door for greater citizen participation in this understanding of national interest."

The guerrilla will deliver a series of general guidelines and more than 50 proposals to the visiting parliamentarians, previously delivered to the government's peace delegation as part of its initiative known as "Rural and agrarian development for democratization and peace with social justice."

On Sunday, March 3, a committee from the Congress of Colombia arrived in Cuba to meet with the FARC-EP delegates, and discuss the peace talks through which an end is being sought to more than 50 years of violence in the South American nation.
